Kei aku nui, kei aku rahi, tēnā koutou katoa.

I was born and raised in Aotearoa New Zealand and am of Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Tahu-Ngāti Whāoa, Irish, and Dutch descent.

My passion for te reo Māori was ignited when I started learning the language during my teenage years. Becoming a teacher was a natural progression for me, I wanted to impart the knowledge I had gained from my teachers over the years to anyone keen to learn, understanding the challenges and joys of learning te reo Māori.

With over a decade of experience teaching at the tertiary level and serving as the Director of Tautika Ltd, my work spans a wide range of activities from translating cartoon series, signage or formal documents to creating courses, resources and teaching classes.

I'm committed to teaching te reo Māori and tikanga Māori and enhancing access to the language. This commitment inspired the creation of Everyday Māori, a social media platform dedicated to making te reo Māori accessible to everyone, everywhere.
